BMC Nursing welcomed submissions for its Collection on person-centered care. Person-centered care is an approach that prioritizes the individual – their values, preferences, and unique needs in healthcare delivery – leading to advancements in patient outcomes, holistic well-being, empowerment of patients and their families, and meaningful patient-provider relationships. The implementation of this approach can result in improvements not only for patients, but also for institutions, where embracing person-centered care can reduce healthcare costs, hospital readmissions, and medical errors. This Collection endeavored to explore the multifaceted aspects of person-centered care within the nursing clinical practice.
This Collection supports and amplifies research related to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being.
