BMC Infectious Diseases is calling for submissions to our Collection on Neglected tropical diseases. Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) present formidable global challenges, disproportionately affecting vulnerable populations who struggle with restricted access to healthcare, clean water, and sanitation. The complexity of NTD epidemiology and treatment, often linked to environmental conditions, can involve vector-borne transmission, animal reservoirs, and intricate life cycles, posing significant challenges to public health control efforts. This Collection invites contributions from the research community which focus on the complexities of NTDs to address the gaps in understanding and combating these health issues, while exploring innovative approaches to mitigate their impact on marginalized populations. The topics of interest include various aspects of NTDs but are not limited to: epidemiological studies, clinical research, socioeconomic analyses, public health and policy initiatives, research advancing the understanding of NTD biology and pathogenesis, as well as the utilization of AI in their management.
This Collection supports and amplifies research related to SDG 3: Good Health & Well-Being and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities.
