BMC Research Notes called for submissions to our Collection on Datasets for dentistry.
Data driven dentistry is driving significant changes in how we treat and manage our oral health. When combined with new technological advances and data analysis techniques, high-quality dental health data offers unique opportunities for understanding oral disease, improving treatment effectiveness, and enhancing dental care delivery.
This collection sought to provide a dedicated platform for researchers and practitioners to share and access valuable, openly available datasets. This will help advance clinical practice, dental research, and public health initiatives and promote transparency, collaboration, and data-driven decision-making across the dental community.
This collection welcomed Data Note articles presenting suitably anonymised* datasets, including:
- Clinical patient records
- Dental imaging and radiographic data
- Epidemiological surveys and public health data
- Treatment outcomes and follow-up data
- Molecular and genetic datasets related to oral health
- Dental device and technology-related datasets
- Longitudinal studies and longitudinal patient data
- Data from dental education and training programs
We also considered research and review articles discussing the importance and application of these data-sets.
This collection supports and amplifies research related to SDG 3: Good Health & Well-Being.
*Any potentially sensitive data submitted to this collection should be appropriately anonymized or deposited in a controlled access repository. For more information, please see our Research data policy on Sensitive data.
