This series on the Aetiology of idiopathic scoliosis aims to publish research, reviews, and opinion articles on the aetiology, pathogenesis and pathomechanisms (scoliogeny) of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). While advances in biological knowledge have enabled significant research into understanding scoliogenic pathways, much is still unknown in relation to the biochemistry and endocrinology of AIS. In the first articles launched, the Series Editors, Professor R Geoffrey Burwell, Professor Peter Dangerfield and co-Editor-in-Chief, Dr Theodoros Grivas introduce the series with their Editorial that integrates the current understanding of AIS causation and etiopathogenetic information.
The Series Editors declare that they have no competing interests. This series has not been sponsored.
